Administrative Perceptions of Diffusion of Courses with World Wide Web Features
Patrick Sutherland

This study examined perceptions of administrators concerning courses with Web features at journalism and mass communication programs. Research questions focused on imperatives to implement, on resistances, and on ElyÕs (1990) conditions facilitating implementation of educational technologies. A survey was conducted of 189 university and college administrators with a response rate of 72%. An extensive set of imperatives were agreed upon. Three major resistances were identified. ElyÕs conditions may be a practical implementation checklist for administrators.
