David T. Z. Mindich is a professor of journalism and mass communication at Saint Michael’s College. Hired in 1996, Mindich was department chair from 2000 to 2006; he is currently acting chair. Mindich is the founding adviser for the department’s Kappa Tau Alpha chapter, the nation’s only chapter housed at a small college. Jan Slater is professor of advertising and Head of the Advertising Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Prior to her appointment at Illinois, Slater was an associate professor and the Associate Director of the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. The election slate is set by the AEJMC Nominations Committee. AEJMC 2007-08 Nominations Committee members are Kyu Ho Youm (chair), University of Oregon; Louise Benjamin, University of Georgia; Venise Berry, University of Iowa; Kathleen Hansen, University of Minnesota; Leo Jeffres, Cleveland State University; Dean Kruckeberg, University of Northern Iowa and Sandra H.
