AEJMC Convention Job Placement Service

2008 Convention • August 6-9 • Chicago, IL

AEJMC’s Job Placement Service will be offered during the association’s annual convention August 6-9 in Chicago, IL at the Chicago Marriott Downtown. The service is for individuals seeking positions and schools seeking job applicants.

Individual Job Placement Service Participants

In order to be registered in the service, you must be a member of AEJMC and be a convention registrant. Applications are pre-numbered and are designed to be used individually. In order to provide a more complete and useful service for our members, the placement service will limit applicants to 150 individuals. You must receive an official application from the central office in order to participate in the service. You are strongly encouraged to call or write for an application as soon as possible. There will be NO on-site registration for individuals using the placement service.

School Job Placement Service Participants

The service is also for schools seeking job applicants. Schools may review files on individuals seeking employment opportunities and individuals may review files on position openings. Rates for programs using the service at the 2008 convention will be $75 for the first position and $45 for each additional. If your program anticipates an opening in the near future, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for. The convention placement service affords programs the chance to meet potential applicants by scheduling preliminary interviews during the week of the convention or by browsing through the vitas of the candidates that are registered with the service. If your program does not have a current position open, but would like to promote the activities of the school or would like to hear from persons who may be interested in working with your institution, don’t let this service pass you by. The Placement Service provides many ways to help promote your program. Why not call today and let us find a way to help you.

Those wanting to use the service are urged to register early by emailing Felicia Greenlee Brown, Coordinator, Job Placement Service, at aejmcprogram@aol.com or writing AEJMC, 234 Outlet Pointe Blvd., Suite A, Columbia, SC 29210-5667. An application form will be emailed to you, which should be completed and mailed back along with requested materials to the AEJMC Central Office by July 1 for individuals and July 15 for programs using the service.
