Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Integrated Marketing Communications

The Meek School of Journalism and New Media, home to vibrant and growing undergraduate and graduate degrees in integrated marketing communications (IMC), seeks an outstanding teacher, scholar and leader to help expand the reach and profile of the program. The person filling this position will have an established record of quality research that complements and builds on existing strengths of the IMC program, exceptional teaching skills, and some professional experience in the IMC industry. This person must be capable of making significant contributions to the growth of the program as well as the broader mission of the School. This is a nine-month tenured or tenure-track position with an anticipated start of August 2018.

Job Responsibilities: This person will continue to maintain a steady stream of rigorous academic research, and will teach courses (both traditional and online) especially at the graduate level. Teaching topics may include IMC research methods, persuasive communication, branding and other IMC related concepts, and electives that are consistent with the candidate’s research. Service duties will include academic advising, mentoring students, and helping guide the continued growth of the IMC program. Service to the university is also expected.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in IMC or a related communications field, a track record of published original research and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level is required. Minimum qualifications must be met at the time of the position start date.

Research Project Manager–Austin, TX

A Research Project Manager is being sought for a private neuromarketing and media research company (www.mediasciencelabs.com). MediaScience® conducts research for major television and media companies such as ESPN, ABC, Facebook, Hulu, and national advertisers. A rigor of experimental research is applied to evaluation of various media and advertising.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule/lead study planning meetings
  • Monitor study preparation ensuring deadlines are met
  • Lead scientists in data analytic strategies
  • Identify trends in research findings
  • Compile findings into industry-friendly final reports, delivered to clients
  • Provide deadlines for various teams related to each stage of project
  • Help design online survey instruments

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in psychology (or related) required
  • Experience with psychophysiology, eye tracking, facial coding, reaction time or survey preferred
