Fixed-term Multi-Year Faculty in Advertising and Public Relations
The Penn State College of Communications invites applications for a multi-year fixed-term lecturer faculty member to join the Advertising and Public Relations Department. The teaching and service emphasis will be in the public relations sequence; experience in the areas of advertising and digital/social media is a plus. We are looking for an individual who enjoys the art of teaching and working with a faculty group that maintains a high degree of collegiality, collaboration, and professionalism. Strong writing and organizational skills will be necessary to teach both introductory and advanced classes. The candidate should demonstrate a firm understanding of strategic communications functions and responsibilities, strategic campaign design, standards of measurement and required skills. Experience developing creative material including graphic and web design would be ideal. Relevant professional industry experience is required; individuals with classroom teaching experience preferred, online teaching experience a plus. Master’s degree required, Ph.D. in a communications discipline a plus. The search committee will begin reviewing applications beginning March 27, 2017; the position will remain open until filled.
