ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION/PUBLIC RELATIONS– (tenure-track position) to begin August 2017. The Department of Communication and Journalism at Missouri Western State University seeks an Assistant Professor in strategic communication/public relations within our growing public relations major. Courses taught may include public relations campaigns, public relations writing and design, client management, public relations practices, introduction to public relations and/or other courses aligned with the candidate’s interests and background.
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Strategic Communication, Public Relations, or Communication by August 2017 (date of appointment). ABD’s near completion may be considered. All faculty in the department are expected to teach the introductory communication course, participate in departmental activities such as advising, and engage in service to the university and discipline. To be considered for tenure and promotion, the successful candidate must develop and maintain a consistent record of teaching excellence, scholarship, and service. The Department values collegiality and a willingness to work with a diverse student population.
