Assistant Professor of Practice Advertising and Public Relations

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications seeks an assistant professor of practice in advertising and public relations starting January 2018. The responsibilities of this position will include teaching 6-8 courses per year, depending on other assigned duties, at the undergraduate and graduate level including introductory and capstone courses. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, assessment activities, service to the profession, and actively mentor students.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in advertising, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field; five or more years of relevant professional experience in advertising, public relations, communications or a related field; and teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in advertising, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field; ten or more years of relevant leadership experience in advertising, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field; and demonstrated commitment and excellence in teaching at the college level.
