The Department of Media, Communications and Journalism at California State University, Fresno seeks applicants for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Broadcast and Multiplatform journalism.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate classes in broadcast and multimedia journalism, engage in creative activities and/or scholarly research, and participate in service-related activities. Primary teaching responsibilities may include courses in writing, multimedia journalism, sports journalism, producing, data visualization, digital storytelling and other fields related to the candidate’s area of expertise.

An earned doctorate in broadcast or multimedia journalism or other related discipline is preferred; an earned master’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required along with 1) Demonstrated teaching experience; 2) Professional experience in broadcast and/or multimedia journalism; 3) Evidence of publication in two or more scholarly journals or published creative works, and 4) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
