The William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas seeks an accomplished professional to teach courses that guide students in how to develop comprehensive strategic communication plans, starting in Spring or Fall 2018. The successful candidate will bring energy and knowledge of the best current professional practices, have extensive experience and documented success in working with teams and deadlines, and be able to start, build, and sustain strategic campaigns. This new colleague also should demonstrate abilities in consumer research and business insights; project and client development and management; social media and other digital strategies, including programmatic advertising; and group organization. We seek a candidate who can develop and maintain connections with industry professionals in local and national markets. The ability to develop and teach online courses and certificate programs is a plus.

The chosen candidate will bring distinction to the School in a professional capacity and will receive an appointment as a professor of the practice. Rank will be assigned at the time of hire based upon the recommendation of the Dean and approval of the Vice Provost for Faculty Development. The appointment is for three years. Subsequent appointments may be offered based on a comprehensive review in the third year of the appointment.
