The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication seeks adjunct faculty for positions in our Public Relations program and our Media Studies program.

The Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University is seeking enthusiastic adjunct faculty to teach one to two courses in public relations each semester within its graduate and undergraduate programs. Screening will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

Successful candidates must have professional and/or academic experience and be able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in research fundamentals, media literacy, public relations campaigns, and other related course work. Adjunct faculty may be occasionally called upon to supervise internships and independent study. We are seeking candidates with the ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include evening and possible weekend assignments.

Minimum Requirements
• Master’s degree in communication, public relations, or related degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Professional experience in public relations
• College-level teaching experience
• Excellent research and writing skills

The Department of Journalism, Media Studies and Public Relations seeks available Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach courses in our Media Studies program. Positions available in Spring and Fall 2018.  Screening will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach 1) Media and the Law; 2) Media and Popular Culture; 3) The Mass Media, Politics and Policy Making;  4) Research in Mass Media Studies; 5) Media Literacy. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching undergraduate courses.

Minimum Requirements
• Master’s degree in Communication or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Terminal degree preferred.
• College-level teaching experience
• Excellent research and writing skills
