Mass Communication: Multi-platform Journalism and Electronic Media Faculty

Broad skills in media and its many platforms, including the ability to teach courses and practicum workshops related to more than one of the student media categories, including hands-on and theory-based classes.
The evolving curriculum stresses student-centered active learning, creation of multi-platform content and building student leadership skills. Courses may include Introduction to Mass Communication, News Writing, Sports Writing, Editing and Copy Editing, Photojournalism, Video Production, Radio Production, Electronic Journalism, Media Ethics, Mass Media and Society, Communication Law, and/or special topics. Will serve as advisor to the student newspaper.

Terminal degree in Mass Communication or related field by August 2018, and experience in multi-platform Mass Communication required.

The Department of Communication Arts comprises of Mass Communication (including Electronic Media and Journalism), Speech Communication, and Theatre Arts. The faculty members are dedicated to classroom teaching, development of multiplatform media professionals, cultivation of campus leaders, and preparing our graduates for tomorrow’s career opportunities.
