Brad Boner

Brad Boner

Brad's career as a photojournalist spans almost two decades of documenting some of the most culturally-rich corners of the American landscape, including the Navajo people of Arizona, the Music City of Nashville, the Southern culture in Louisiana and Alaska's vast frontier. He strives to capture the essence and spirit of the subjects in his images and uses photography to illustrate his love for the outdoors.

Brad has been the chief photographer at the Jackson Hole News & Guide in Jackson, Wyo., since 2004 and photo editor of Jackson Hole Magazine, a bi-annual publication of news and features on the Greater Yellowstone region, since 2005. He is the photographer and author of Yellowstone National Park: Through the Lens of Time, a book of re-photography of William Henry Jackson's images from the 1871 Hayden Survey to the region that would become the world's first national park.

Brad's photography and photo editing has been recognized with several state, regional and national awards from a variety of organizations, including the Wyoming Press Association, Michigan Press Photographers Association, Arizona Press Club, Idaho Press Club, National Newspaper Association, Inland Press Association, National Press Photographers Association and the NPPA's Best of Photojournalism competitions. 

Brad was named Photographer of the Year by the Wyoming Press Association for 2015, 2018 and 2019.

Under his direction, the Jackson Hole News & Guide was awarded Best Use of Photography by newspapers with less than 75,000 circulation in the National Press Photographers Association's 2014, 2015 and 2018 Best of Photojournalism Editing competitions, and the NPPA's Picture Editor of the Year - Team award in the 2019 competition. The News&Guide has earned Best Use of Photography from the Wyoming Press Association every year since the award's inception in 2014.

Lynden Steele

Lynden Steele

As director of photojournalism at the Missouri School of Journalism’s Reynolds Journalism Institute, Lynden Steele oversees the Pictures of the Year International competition, coordinates worldwide exhibitions and manages the POYI archive. He also teaches at the Missouri School of Journalism.

Before coming to RJI, Steele worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch since 2008, most recently as assistant managing editor of photography. The work of his staff has been widely recognized. Notable awards include the 2017 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Domestic Photography, the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography and the POYI Director’s Choice in 2015.

In 2014, his staff, along with the Post-Dispatch’s graphics and metro team, won an EPPY Award from Editor & Publisher for Best Use of Photography on a Website and the Scripps Howard Foundation Award for Breaking News for staff coverage of Ferguson.

Prior to his work in St. Louis, Steele was a picture editor at the White House and edited the photography book “Portraits of a Leader: George W. Bush.”

Steele began his career as a staff photographer at the Monroe (Michigan) Evening News, and also worked as a staff photographer for Copley newspapers.

He received his bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from the Missouri School of Journalism.

Pat Clark

Pat Clark

Pat Clark is an award-winning filmmaker and visual artist at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He received a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Film and New Media, an MA in Television, Film and New Media from San Diego State University and an MFA with an emphasis in multimedia from San Diego State University.

While his narrative and documentary work explores a wide range of subjects, his films often present focused views of larger events. His video installation work focuses on human memory and the manner in which we collect, recall and assign value to our memories. His video work has screened at festivals internationally. 

Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor

is an associate professor of journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Previously, he was a visiting professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His professional recognitions include National Photographer of the Year, Northern Photographer of the Year, New England Photographer of the Year, Virginia Photographer of the Year and North Carolina Photographer of the Year (twice). His coverage of an Afghanistan trauma hospital garnered numerous international and national awards, and his work has also appeared twice on the cover of the Best of Photojournalism magazine.

Taylor was the inaugural fellow in the Multimedia, Photography and Design department at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. His master’s project was a series of films in the local burn unit. He is the lead creator of The Image, Deconstructed.

Jarrad Henderson

Jarrad Henderson

Jarrad Henderson is a respected industry leader who seeks to democratize journalism by empowering diverse voices to share their stories. A 4-time Emmy Award-winning visual journalist, multimedia alchemist and inspirational educator, Henderson has produced impactful content in large newsrooms for over a decade — specializing in access to visual storytelling education, documentary filmmaking, photojournalism, video editing, media entrepreneurship, media literacy, mentorship and professional development. 

His previous leadership experience includes serving as the Academic Representative for the National Association of Black Journalists - Board of Directors, multimedia judge for the Hearst Journalism Awards, and as a past member of the Filmmaker Development Council for the Video Consortium. Henderson is currently a 2023-2024 Artist in Residence for the School of Journalism at Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

During his 2022-2023 Knight-Wallace Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Henderson founded Pop Up Docs™, a pop-up style storytelling workshop that provides skill-building courses for aspiring non-fiction filmmakers from underrepresented populations.

As an educator, Henderson has been described as a relatable, energetic presenter able to simplify complex concepts into digestible pieces. He is at his best when teaching students how to research, document, edit and share stories.

Henderson credits his mentors, and organizations like NABJ, for being a catalyst in his professional development and a source of inspiration to pass along the torch. In his previous role as Senior Multimedia Producer at USA Today, his work was honored by organizations such as the Robert F. Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism, Livingston Awards for Young Journalists, Sidney Hillman Foundation, News Leaders Association, and National Press Photographers Association.

Brian Storm

Brian Storm

Brian Storm is the founder of MediaStorm, a film production and interactive design studio that publishes diverse narratives, offers advanced storytelling training, builds publishing tools and collaborates with a diverse group of clients.

MediaStorm’s stories and interactive applications have received numerous honors, including 17 Emmy Award nominations (4 time winner), 30 Webby nominations (6 time winner), three Online Journalism Awards, three World Press Photo Awards, two Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards, two Overseas Press Club Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award, as well as more than 50 awards from Pictures of the Year and Best of Photojournalism. 

Prior to launching MediaStorm in 2005, Storm spent two years as Vice President of News, Multimedia & Assignment Services for Corbis, a digital media agency founded and owned by Bill Gates. Storm led Corbis' global strategy for its news, sports, entertainment and historical collections and oversaw the division responsible for representing a group of industry-leading photographers with a focus on creating in-depth multimedia products.

From 1995 to 2002, Storm was the first Director of Multimedia at MSNBC.com, a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC News, where he was responsible for the audio, photography and video areas of one of the world’s leading 24-hour news sites. In October of 1998, his team created MSNBC's The Week in Pictures feature to showcase the power of visual journalism.

Storm received his master's degree in photojournalism in 1995 from the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he ran the New Media Lab and taught Electronic Photojournalism. In 1994, he launched the first version of MediaStorm as an interactive CD-ROM production company.

Storm serves on the Advisory Board of Reporters Without Borders, the Alexia Foundation for World Peace, the Stan Kalish Picture Editing Workshop, and Pictures of the Year. He is a frequent speaker on the subject of storytelling.

In addition to MediaStorm’s training efforts, Storm leads the product vision for the MediaStorm Platform with the goal of empowering the next generation of storytellers

Corin Green

Corin GreenCorin Green is a Pittsburgh-based graphic designer with over a decade of experience spanning the consumer packaged goods, software development, media, and arts & entertainment industries. She has touched an array of brands found in Walmart, The Home Depot, Menards and Lowe's while working for The Pittsburgh Paints Co. (formerly PPG Architectural Coatings US and Canada). Additionally, Corin dabbles in letterpress printing, photography, and calligraphy. Her work has been recognized by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, Photographer’s Forum Magazine, and the Leica Historical Society.

Bernice Chao

Bernice Chao

Bernice Chao is an award-winning creative and has worked on the world's top brands. She is among the few female Asian American creative leaders in the industry and is helping to shape the AANHPI community through Asians in Advertising, a global non-profit. The organization inspires the next generation of talent through its podcasts, events, mentorship, and scholarship programs. 

Chao authored the award-winning bestseller The Visibility Mindset and has given talks on over 100 stages, including SXSW, World Bank, and Cannes. She is a professor at Loyola Marymount University and president of TEDxCulverCity. Bernice was inducted into the 2022 AAF Hall of Achievement, the 2023 She Run's It Working Mother of the Year Award, and the 2023 ADCOLOR Catalyst Award. Mingxuan Shen

Mingxuan Shen

Mingxuan Shen is a multidisciplinary designer specializing in brand identity, UI/UX, motion and editorial design. From Shanghai, China, she is now based in New York City. Many of her projects revolve around the uniqueness of cultures and social diversity. Her eclectic background in journalism, studio art and cognitive science gives her a more comprehensive and empathetic view toward design. Currently at Google. Previously at Pentagram, Baboon to the Moon, Coulture, 1893 Brand Studio and Kompleks Creative. Jordan Mitrik

Jordan Mitrik

Jordan Mitrik is a Content Marketing Manager at Brunner, a top 100 independent U.S. integrated marketing agency. A creative thinker, Jordan leads with passion and enthusiasm the strategy, development, and management of unique content across a variety of channels. His strategic solutions have positively impacted Fortune 500 B2C and B2B clients in the home improvement, restaurant, financial, construction, and retail industries. 

With almost a decade of experience ranging from content strategy and influencer marketing to media relations and social media, he has worked with brands such as The Home Depot, WesBanco, Church’s Texas Chicken, Bayer, Mitsubishi Electric, Musselman’s, Lucky Leaf, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, and SharkBite to build brand awareness and tell their unique stories.

His integrated role has allowed him to effectively manage team members, lead the content development for a national brand launch, work with celebrities and brand ambassadors to promote products, plan large-scale production shoots for digital campaigns, and support the communications strategy and execution for AdWeek’s #1 Super Bowl commercial in 2017.

Named one of Pittsburgh’s 30 Under 30 by the Pittsburgh Business Times and the recipient of PRSA Pittsburgh’s Rising Star Award, Jordan graduated from Waynesburg University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in marketing. Outside of the office, Jordan has served on PRSA Pittsburgh’s Board of Directors since 2016, most recently as the Chapter’s President for three years.
