Commission: A commission represents an area of broad concern, one that cuts across divisional lines. Any member may join. A commission is created through approval of the membership and elects its own officers.

Investigates and proposes ways to achieve racial and cultural diversity in journalism/communication programs and curriculum. A complete list of current officers is available. The purpose of CSW is to advocate for the improvement of the status of women in journalism and mass communication education as well as in the journalism and mass communication workforce.
