Assistant Professor in Visual Communication and Visual Journalism

The Department of Communication & Journalism at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Visual Communication and Visual Journalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Journalism or Communication (or a related discipline) by the time of hire
  • Specialization in visual journalism and visual communication, with the ability to teach photography, photojournalism, video storytelling, visual design, and/or theories of visual communication
  • Ability to develop and teach new courses in the visual journalism and visual communication fields as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous college-level teaching experience and/or professional experience in visual journalism and/or visual communication
  • Experience with using and teaching the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with teaching and/or practicing qualitative research methods and/or mixed methods
