Oklahoma Baptist University seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Digital Media Arts (DMA) with appointment to begin August 2013. Review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Candidates will be expected to teach courses related to news gathering, media production, and social and/or new media as well as other courses related to the candidate’s areas of expertise or a combination thereof. An ability to teach courses within the converged curriculum of the Division of Communication Arts including social responsibility (media law and media ethics) and media & culture is a plus. The candidate should be willing to engage professionals in Oklahoma media as well as advise the weekly student television newscast, “News30.”
Candidates should have a record of college-level teaching effectiveness, an on-going pursuit of scholarly/creative output, and active involvement with regional and/or national associations. A doctorate in Electronic Media, Digital Media, Media Arts, Broadcast, Journalism or related fields is preferred. ABDs near the completion of their degree will be considered. To further support the university mission, the candidate must be an evangelical Christian.
