Advertising Professor. The University of South Florida School of Mass Communications seeks a forward-thinking colleague to help grow our advertising program. We invite applications for a full-time tenure-earning assistant or associate professor in advertising at the USF Tampa campus beginning in August 2013. The salary for this nine-month position is competitive and negotiable, to be determined by experience, education, and status in the scholarly and professional community.
Minimum Qualifications. An appropriate doctoral degree is required, as is professional advertising experience, and the ability to teach courses in the school’s strategic communication management graduate program, as well as its undergraduate advertising sequence. Scholarly research and publication are required, as are student advising and service to the department, university, and profession. The position requires evidence of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications. Candidates with an established research agenda, experience supervising graduate student research, and knowledge of graduate program development are preferred. Candidates who specialize in digital media planning or other new media technology are particularly desirable.
