Job Summary
Bethel University (College of Arts and Sciences) invites applications for a three-year, full-time faculty appointment in the Department of English, with a focus on courses in the Journalism major. Position open fall 2013.

Responsibilities
Teach the equivalent of a full-time (seven-course) load per academic year. Course assignments include Introduction to News Writing, News Writing in a Multimedia World, Principles of Layout and Design, Principles of Editing, and Topics in Journalism, as well as College Writing and advising the student newspaper. General faculty responsibilities will include student advising, and department and committee assignments.

Required Skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and pedagogical skills; an ability to articulate a vision for journalism in a Christian university and for preparing Christians to contribute to this field. Ability to work proficiently in different communication media.

Required Experience
A strong professional record in print and online journalism, with extensive experience outside the academic world. Must have developed a significant network of contacts in journalism and publishing.

Required Education
M.A. in Journalism or closely-related field
