Free online report about coverage of U.S.–Mexico drug trafficking

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas has published a new online report on the coverage of U.S.-Mexico drug trafficking. It is available for free download. Titled “Journalism in Times of Threats, Censorship and Violence,” the report is from a March workshop on cross-border coverage of U.S.–Mexico drug trafficking held in Austin, Texas. The report is now available in English and Spanish and can be downloaded in PDF format for free from the Knight Center Digital Library.

The text was compiled from the “Specialized Reporting Institute” (SRI) that was conducted March 26–27, 2010, by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at the University of Texas at Austin, thanks to a generous grant from the McCormick Foundation of Chicago.
